I spent most of my life in Southern California where I eventually met my wife, Michele, and we have one daughter Jennifer, and two wonderful grandchildren, ages 3 and 5. I spent 36 years on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 2008. I worked various assignments with my final role as a Sergeant in Detectives supervising Detectives investigating violent crimes.
We decided to move to Peoria three years ago for a variety of reasons. Blackstone Country Club and the surrounding community has everything we have dreamed of; an amazing golf course, gym, variety of activities, and very importantly a group of engaging and superb people. The fact that our daughter, son-in-law, and the grandkids live five minutes away makes our move perfect.
Last year I ran for and got elected to the Blackstone HOA Board because I wanted to get involved in the decision making process. I believe it is imperative that board members bring forth the general members thoughts and concerns. I have worked hard, in conjunction with the other HOA board members, to improve the landscaping and overall appearance of the HOA, the DRC (Design Review Committee), the Blackstone Country Club owners and the community members.
In addition to my experience on the Blackstone HOA, I served 4 years on the Lake Havasu Refuge Community HOA. My responsibilities on the board included holding the Secretary position, supervising the private security that ensured our safety in the gated community, and being the chairman of the Design Review Committee.
On a personal note, I am an avid golfer, enjoy the gym, pickleball, hiking, and traveling around the world. If you re-elect me to the Blackstone HOA board, I assure you that I will continue to listen to your concerns, use common sense when making decisions, and promise to do the "right thing."
