My wife and I have lived in Blackstone since 2016 and are members of the Blackstone Country Club, which allows us to socialize with other members of our community.
With respect to employment, I retired in 2016. My employment history started in 1972 with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). I started out as a civilian employee and in 1976, became a sworn officer. Throughout my law enforcement career, I worked, patrol, vice, narcotics, background investigations, air support, motorcycle patrol, and other duties. I was promoted throughout my career, reaching the rank of Captain III with a command of 400 officers and civilians. My mission and focus were to reduce both violent and property crimes while building a partnership with the community.
I retired from the LAPD in 2008 after 36 years of service due to being selected as the Chief of Security, Emergency Management, and Business Continuity for the Los Angeles Department of Water and power. My duties involved overseeing the security of our assets in three different western states and developing emergency preparedness plans. I officially retired in 2016.
My wife and I love world travel, golf, hiking, scuba diving and socializing with our friends here in Blackstone.
